How to Fry Bacon
Llano Seco Organic Bacon
Pan Frying on the Stove ~ Low and slow...
Place individual slices of Llano Seco Organic Bacon into a heavy frying pan with even heat distribution. Turn the fire on low. Cook the bacon, turning often as it begins to browns, until it is done to your taste. For crispier bacon slices, you will want to cook slightly longer so that the slices are browner. This last part of frying crispy bacon is when it can cook the quickest so don't turn away for a moment. Drain on paper towels and enjoy!
NOTE: Always keep a close eye on bacon while you are cooking as it can burn in the blink of an eye.
Baking in the Oven ~ An easy alternative to frying and great for cooking large quantities
Preheat oven to 400 degrees. Place individual slices of bacon on a rack. Set the rack in a baking pan that is about 1 inch deep. Bake for 10 to 15 minutes, depending on your desired results. You do not need to turn. Keep an eye on the bacon after 12 minutes as it starts to cook more quickly at about that point. Times may vary depending on your oven. Drain on paper towels and enjoy!
What to do with the bacon fat?
The leftover fat from cooked bacon adds a delicious flavor to many savory recipes. To save for future use, cool the leftover bacon fat to room temperature. Stain through a fine sieve into a glass container. Cover tightly and store in the refrigerator.
