Thanks for Supporting Healthy School Lunches

Thank you to everyone who came out to the Sierra Nevada Big Room on May 7th to support Chico Eat Learn Grow. This group has an important mission in introducing children to good, healthy, locally grown food. I support their efforts to have kids be a part of growing their own food in school gardens and by forming relationships with local farmers who can show them the many important factors in bringing good food to the lunch table.

Chico is surrounded by farms that produce fruit, nuts and vegetables that can be brought straight to the lunch table at local schools. With some cooperation between school districts and growers, good educational and business relationships could be formed. Again, thank you for your support and please follow Chico Eat Learn Grow and support their efforts to promote good eating habits and good education.
